How do I know my sign?
Western horoscopes usually use your Sun sign, taken from your birth date alone. Vedic astrology usually reads your Moon sign, or Rashi, which needs your birth date, exact birth time and birth place. The two often differ, so many people see one sign in a newspaper column and another from a Vedic astrologer. Neither is wrong; they answer slightly different questions.
