How vSam AstroGuru handles the details you enter, including what is sent to the astrology calculation service.

This text is a working draft written while the service is still being built. It does not claim compliance with the law of any particular country, and no legal entity, address, email, phone number, governing law, dispute venue, age threshold, retention period or third-party vendor has been decided yet. Current state of the service
You browse as a guest and there are no accounts. Birth details you enter are sent over an encrypted connection from our server to the Prokerala Vedic astrology service purely to perform the calculation you requested. They are not stored in any database by this app, and your name is never transmitted — it is only a label on your screen. Entries stay in the page while you are on it and are lost when you reload or close the tab.
Categories of data
When the service goes live, the categories are expected to include: details you type (name or nickname, birth date, birth time, birth place, message text), preferences you choose (language, calculation convention, region), and basic technical information created by any website visit. The final list will be confirmed by [Operator legal name] before launch.
Purposes of use
Data would be used only to produce the reading or report you asked for, to remember your language and display preferences, to answer a message you send, and to keep the service working safely. It would not be sold.
Sensitivity of birth details
Birth date, exact birth time and birth place together are unusually revealing. They can identify a person, and in many families they are treated as private. Match Making adds a second person's details as well. We therefore treat birth details with special care, ask for them only when a calculation needs them, and will keep them separate from general browsing information.
You must have that person's permission before entering another person's details. Please do not enter details of someone who has not agreed, and do not enter a child's details unless you are their parent or guardian.
Data minimisation
We aim to ask for the smallest amount of information that a feature genuinely needs. Where a nickname is enough, a full name is not required. Where a city is enough, a full address is not required.
Consent
Personalised calculation will be based on your clear consent, given separately from general browsing. Optional choices such as saving a profile or receiving updates will default to off. You will be able to withdraw consent at any time. See the Consent page for details.
Storage and retention
No server storage is connected today. When storage is introduced, the location of storage and the period for which each category is kept will be stated here as [Retention period], confirmed by [Operator legal name]. Until then, please assume nothing you type is retained.
Service providers
Hosting, email delivery, payments or calculation partners will be listed here as [Service providers] once they are chosen and contracted. No provider is named in this draft because none has been confirmed.
International transfers
If data is ever processed outside [Country/jurisdiction], that fact and the safeguards used will be described here. This cannot be described accurately until the operator's legal entity, hosting region and vendors are confirmed.
Security
We intend to apply reasonable technical and organisational measures appropriate to the sensitivity of birth data. No online service can promise absolute security, and we do not make that promise.
Access, correction and deletion
When accounts and storage exist, you will be able to ask for a copy of your information, correct it, or ask for it to be deleted, and to withdraw a consent you gave. Children
This service is intended for adults. A minimum age will be set once [Country/jurisdiction] is confirmed. A child's birth details should be entered only by a parent or guardian.
